I played it recently and now I'm restarting. I plan on going farther, though.

Now I'm starting it and...



Why must they ask the hard questions first? I always get this wrong...

Anyway, I picked the male and I get greeted by Professor Oak sooner than I expect!



Great words from a great man, though he looks kinda yucky in that photo.

I listen on to his "great" discussion about Pokemon and I eventually get asked this question...



I wonder what I shall insert. Joshua, Crystal, Butt...



This will do, I suppose.

Anyway, I continue hearing his rant and I eventually find myself in my room.



Was this a dream? Was I imagining things? These questions never get answered in Pokemon games...

I go downstairs and get greeted by my mother. She tells me about Professor Elm and that he wants me to do something.



I am about to refuse when she hands me my POKEGEAR before I can speak my defiance and I ungratefully accept this quest.



I put on my delightful POKEGEAR when she asks me a strange question: What day is it? I have known that my mother was old, but she never forgot what day it was when I was younger. Note to self: Save her some money.



I tell her it's Wednesday and she nods like nothing happened. She remembers that there isn't Daylight Savings, so I rush out the door.



I immediately head west and go straight to the lab. I walk calmly towards a weak man on his computer, typing and clicking with his mouse. As I approach him, he greets me with a smile.



I remember him, he's Professor Elm. He was always so nice to me, though I vaguely remember him sending out a Totodile that nearly bit my hand off. Awful memories. As I remember the terrible memory, he suddenly brings my attention towards him.



Whoopey-freaking-doo, I get emails all the time. He tells me that they are investigating weird things and they want me to investigate something.



Me, a 13-year old kid who is mute. Way to take advantage of someone. He stands up and motions me toward his long desk with three spherical balls with it split horizontally with red on top and white on bottom. I pick the first one I see.



It's a Cyndaquil, he says, and I should raise with love. Fat chance. He tells me I should nickname it.



I named him Pyro and he sends me off. I walk towards the exit when his assistant cuts me off and secretly hands me a Potion.



Good thing, I need this Potion for my journey and he owes me for my payment for the secret PokeDrugs I give him. 'What a terrible assistant' I think to myself as I leave the building.

I wake myself back to my doze and I realize that I'm still in front of Professor Elm's Laboratory. I decided to view around town before I leave for my adventure.

And... how long ago was this? I remember him discovering these new "generation" Pokemon last year, fatty.



...Not going in.

Anyway, I decided it was time to go when I saw a peculiar boy around my age looking through Elm's window.



I assumed he was a thief, so I went over there to tell him that he usually was gone around 11 o'clock.




Uh, yeah. You look stupid when you talk to yourself, just saying.

The boy tried to punch me and I quickly jumped back to avoid the fist. I decided it was time to go so I prepared myself to go.



I stepped outside and decided to go to the grass. I was immediately pulled into a battle with a strange Pokemon the resembled an owl.



I commanded my new Pyro to Ember this Hoothoot, but he unfortunately didn't know Ember yet. Mad, I commanded him to Tackle it continuously. Pyro took some hits, but he was the tougher one and destroyed Hoothoot.



Pyro gained a certain term called Experience Points and I could tell he was getting stronger. I continued battling many Pokemon until I came to realize that I should be focusing on the mission: To go talk to this Mr. Pokemon dude.

I continue traveling when I see lights from my right. I turn to see a house that looked more like a gate, however.



I decided I should go there later to see anything interesting, but I had to continue this way to Mr. Pokemon. I go up a short hill to see a weird plant.



This seemed very interesting to me, so I reached my hand in there and grabbed what seemed like a soft, blue fruit.



I put it in my backpack for later use and saw a strange fellow looking out from the hill. I decided to go talk to him.




Uh, good luck staying awake. It's only 7 o'clock...

I decided to continue traveling, but I soon come up to a pretty woman. I decided to see what she had to say.

I decided break time was over and I continued battling many wild Pokemon, allowing my Pyro to gain more and more levels. I soon realized that he reached to level 10 in no time.



My Pyro did a good job today, so I decided that he needs a break. I walked a little further and soon realized I was at Cherrygrove City, halfway mark to Mr. Pokemon. Before I know it, I dozed off again.
