I'm sure someone has posted this information somewhere, but I found an article on the internet that puts it together in an interesting way.

Victini - The Victory Pokemon
Appears at the bottom of the Liberty Garden Tower.

You guys have realized that Isshu is very much like America, right? If nothing else was a clue, the football player must have done it.

Well the Liberty Garden Tower is sounding to me a lot like the Statue of Liberty.

Victini is a Fire/Psychic type.
Victini's Dex Entry: It makes limitless energy inside its body. It releases this energy on any Pokemon who touches it.

Limitless energy that is extremely volatile? Fire/psychic type? I think this is a reference to nuclear energy.

This is interesting considering America's past with Japan. I wonder how they're going to handle it- are the references going to end here, or are they going to carry on? Is this a slap in the face to the US for what we did with nuclear power? Maybe a lesson against it overall?

What do you guys think?

That's really interesting, I think. I have to say that the setup of the city in the middle of the region reminds me a lot of American parks.
Not so sure about the nuclear bomb thing though (I do agree that it is similar to nuclear energy though). The US and Japan are both some of the top users of nuclear energy. I don't think it's a slap in the face until Team Plasma dishes out a nuclear bomb threat. : P

Just give this thing a nuke attack and a radiation (Which could induce a custom status if they were awesome) ability and I'll love it. For now I'm just okay with it.

What america did against japan is something unforgivable and unforgettable so maybe Japan wants a little indirect payback

Is it a nuclear energy Pokemon? Yeah, it seems like it. Is it a payback/direct slap to america? I doubt it. Pokemon makes its points much more broadly than that.

I think Victini is a reference to nuclear energy, but not a nuclear bomb (for now, at least). Also, there is nothing that supports it being a bomb and only a reference to it releasing energy. Nuclear Energy =/= Nuclear Bomb.
