vs.

Note:
now before hand i want to say that i am not going to give any favoritism to Beck as many members will know i am a huge fan while i allways ditch k-on!
now let's start
How i see the series:
Beck: it's a series that shows how growing up feels and how music can change your life
K-on!: a series how a group of friends that have fun make music and help each other.
some of the main chracters:
Tanaka Yukio:
The main character; the series follows his rapid development from living an average life to becoming an outstanding guitarist. He is the fourth member recruited into BECK, playing rhythm guitar and singing slower songs. He also seems like a person that doesn't know much about life.
By that i mean that, good for nothing 14 year old boy who after saving Ryuskes dog Beck is intruduced into the world of music where he finds a meaning for his dull life, rahter low-self steam boy but somehow looks at the brigt side of life sometimes cocky But really really emotional.
Yui Hirasawa:a 15 year old girl who just entered high school, joins the music club where she finds a group of friends, where she has fun and learns to play the guitar she sings, also she has a perfect pitch ear, she is air headed does not rember anything.
Ryūsuke "Ray" Minami A slacker, but incredibly talented guitarist, he inspires Koyuki to begin playing guitar. He is the lead guitarist of BECK as well as its founding member. A large amount of the story revolves around him and his Gibson Les Paul guitar, named Prudence (Lucille in the original version, which is the same name of B.B. King's famous black Gibson), that has a somewhat dark history.
He is allways with a cool and relax actitude rather much of a womanaizer he will allways bring the band together to make music and pretty much the voice of wisdom when comes to music.
Ritsu Tainaka:The drummer for k-on! she is somewhat of the brain in the group allways bringing ideas for rising money likes to tease alot Mio(rahter in a sexual way sometimes)she has an ambiguous yet upbeat personality,
Yoshiyuki Taira
BECK's bassist, Taira is the first member recruited by Ryûsuke. Although he can sometimes seem uncaring or apathetic, he is actually the most mature of the band members and often offers helpful advice. He usually performs shirtless, much like the character he is based on: Flea of RHCP
He is know for being ''funky'' for a bass player that's japonese he is known for being skillfull bass player like said before allways being request to play on other bands but in the end he stays as a permanent member of beck.
Tsumugi Kotobuki: she is a lesbian
Mio is a shy girl who is in the light music club and plays a left-handed, 3-Color Sunburst Fender Jazz Bass with a tortoiseshell pickguard, though is shown playing a Fender Precision Bass in the first manga volume. She originally intended to join the literary club, but is forced into the light music club by her childhood friend and the club's she is extremly shy often use as eye candy and fan serivce she is the lead singer for a while her voice is rahter more deep compare to yui's.
Tsunemi Chiba:
The main vocalist for BECK, Chiba's vocals are more punk- and rap-oriented than Koyuki's and thus more fitting for the majority of Beck's songs. Chiba's inclusion in the band was that originally during a baseball game early in the series it was brought to Ryusuke's attention that he was a vocalist with a great presence on stage. he is the most Funny of all the charcters on beck he will often try to flirt with alot of girls he knows Karate and it's know that he gets in a lot of fights and yes he fights for his friends.
PLOT:
Beck:the series focuses on how koykuki learns to play guitar and overall grow as a person and an artist.
K-on!:about how a group of friends make a club to have fun,as well as helping each other.
Art:
Beck:Well the art is not for everyone here it's rather more of the stile of realism and manga cobined huge eyes, but not exagerated brests or things like that
or strange colored hair the series shines when the 3-d is used to show the playing of the chords ect.the visuals are great for what it's supose to reflect but yet it might not for everyone.
K-on!: the visuals are very Moe orientent making the protagonist look younger than they are so the chibi stile is here and there but the animation is great and the effects are also nice, also wierd camera angles.the songs feels like an MTV music video so i supose if you like that there you will enjoy the music segments.
Soundtracks/audio:
Beck:Fromt the sound of the Les paul to a telecaster the sound is exelent and the soundstrack is one of the few ones that i have actually heard completly and have it on music colection
K-on!:the audio has great quality as well maybe even better the songs are somewhat punk-rock to j-pop nothing too especial to me the opening song especially very anoing but the're some great song there.
The Good parts!
Beck:Exelent story charcters you can relate with the interaction between them is really what you would expect from high school teen agers with F-bombs all over the place and slangs, the detail on the guitar is one of the best on anime the backgrounds have allways something on them the series ends with a big bang! and the soundstrack is simply perefect, alot of memorable moments. The inglish dub is perfect and better than the original japonese.
K-on!: outstanding animantion fluid movements cutesy art style(note i don't like this at all but i know alot of people that do)detail here is exelent as well alot of polish in everydetail the jokes are your standard anime comedy song can be good when they are not j-pop fan servise is all over the place.
what sucks.
Beck: with only 26 episodes and a movie coming the series is very short when the manga has allready ended with 169 chapters plus some side storys, the original jap dub is terrible when the songs come alot of igrish in there the language barrier that may add to some an extra dept to the show i personally like both jap and dub but if i had to choose i will go for the dub.the series starts slowly and will show koyukis day in life all of the boring and exiting days.the art can be ugly at some points.
K-on!:Moe moe moe and more moe,fan servise, un-realistic for a ''slice of life'' too silly take seriusly the Mtv music videos are somewhat of a waste the live coserts would have been better if you ask me there is no character develpment the character stay still trought the series the plot is almost non existant, the character look like they where made to make pedofiles feel somethign funny in their pants and the popularity of this is extremely anoing when it's nothing to espcial in reality.and for some reason i can't really stan the series(note this is a personal view not ment as a fact).
but for a fun fact some people will get rather bored by this or love it depends on which series you like or your preference this is being said for both series.
in conclusion!
Both series are good, they are what they are supose to be while personally i can't stand k-on,alot of people will have a great time wathcing, while on beck you will have a great time if you can endure some slow starts it's great and has alot going for i wish this series could get more recognition however there shouldn't be a discucion over which is the best and let's just agree that both are great series that show the power of music,so last words on the series.
Beck:is for the people who want a story to follow and see characters grow and have a killer soundstrack.
while k-on! is more oriented into the girl side and shows a rahter Funny way or lighter of the same kind of situaction so if you just want a a laught i sugest you watch this instead.
and that's about it
